Supercomputers have many applications, including modelling simulations, performing complex scientific calculations, and rendering high definition 3D graphics.

The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre operates multiple supercomputers that use complementary technologies. These include traditional CPUs and GPU accelerators. The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre also operates Data Intensive Resources including the NeCTAR Research Cloud and Zythos.

The supercomputing hardware currently managed includes the systems located within the Pawsey Centre (Magnus and Galaxy) and Fornax supercomputers, located at UWA.
