iVEC@Curtin was established as a directorate within Curtin IT Services (CITS) in early 2013. It brings together the research support and engagement activities of CITS with those of iVEC to provide researchers with a single point of contact for all questions regarding the use of advanced ICT in the research workflow. Through its location on Curtin University’s Bentley Campus, it enables Curtin’s research community to conveniently have access to a wide range iVEC’s expert staff.
The staff of the facility is compromised of staff associated with iVEC Programs and Resources. Amongst the staff hosted by iVEC@Curtin are members of iVEC’s Supercomputing Team as well as staff working in the office of the Executive Director. iVEC@Curtin is focused on providing the research community with fit-for-purpose ICT tools and services and is in particular involved in supporting the uptake of cloud computing resources.
Curtin University’s researchers are heavy users of iVEC’s infrastructure and the Facility manages the uptake and engagement.
