iVEC is an unincorporated joint venture between CSIRO, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University and the University of Western Australia and is supported by the Western Australian Government.

Governance is exercised through the iVEC Board, which provides leadership and oversight of the activities of the organisation. In providing leadership and direction, the Board works with the Executive Director in engaging external stakeholders, reviewing iVECâ’s mission and objectives, identifying desired outcomes the organisation is seeking and setting the strategies it will use to achieve them. The Executive Director has direct responsibility for all management and operational issues within the direction and the policies laid down by the Board and is guided by the iVEC Management Group.
